About Us

Undergraduate Economics Society was founded in 2005

Who are we?

We are the official student organization of the UCSD Department of Economics for undergraduate students. With the support of Dr. Melissa Famulari, UES was founded in 2005 with the hopes of establishing a stronger network between all undergraduate economics students and UCSD resources and department faculty members.

Over the years UES had expanded and evolved to new heights. We now provide the resources necessary to prepare our members for embarking on a career in the business world or graduate school through various events and workshops. UES members have the opportunity network with alumni, corporate representatives, graduate schools, UCSD faculty, and each other while being a part of an organization designed to enhance the educational and social experience of all interested students at UCSD!

Our goal is to help students excel as members of the UCSD Economics Department. We are also committed to preparing students for any career opportunities after college that relate to economics, business, finance, and accounting.

We host events to help members study for finals and network with other students and UCSD faculty. We also hold grad school info sessions, mock interviews, and resume critiques to help members with plans after graduation. Since we are directly funded by the UCSD Economics Department, we don't require dues from our members.
